My first school visit today, a grade four class in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
The teacher, Mrs. Tenwolde, has been reading my book to the kids, so they had lots of questions for me, and I had questions for them. It was a wonderfully lively session, and I was so impressed with the children’s curiosity and interest.
They’re doing book reviews on Nine Lives, and have promised me copies – I really look forward to getting them. It was a great introduction to the classroom – I don’t want to tell you how many years since I’ve been in school!
And the whole session made me understand, once again, why I wrote the book – because I hoped kids would get to read and enjoy it.
Fielding some great questions from the students in Dartmouth
Showing the students my manuscript for the next book
Reading the next chapter from The Nine Lives of Travis Keating
