Included in the 2014 edition of Bank Street College of Education’s Best Books of the Year for Children and Young AdultsThe College is located in New York City.

One of ten finalists for the Canadian Library Association’s Young Adult Book Award for 2014. The name of the winner and the honour books will be announced the week of April 14th. 

Shortlisted for the Snow Willow Award – this is a Saskatchewan Young Readers’s Choice Award (SYRCA). The Snow Willow is for grades 7-9.  The award winners are announced in May 2015.

The Present Tense of Prinny Murphy is shortlisted for the Manitoba Young Readers’ Choice Award (MYRCA) 2012

The Present Tense of Prinny Murphy was nominated for the 2011 Josette Frank Award by the Children’s Book Committee at Bank Street College of Education, New York City.
My book was one of six nominees from the thousands of books the committee reviews. While Present Tense did not win the award – congratulations to Sharon M. Draper, whose novel, Out of My Mind, was the winner! – it was a tremendous honour to be shortlisted.
