Word on the Street is happening in Halifax this Sunday, September 22nd, on the Halifax Waterfront around the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.
I’ll be there for 11:30 on the Vibrant Voices stage with Jan Coates and JoAnn Yhard.
We’re doing a panel discussion on middle grade and YA novels: can they foster empathy and critical thought in their readers?
Hope to see you there! It’s always a fun day, lots of wonderful writers reading, and happy to meet you.
The geothermal areas fascinated me, steam, boiling water, boiling mud, you name it. Krísuvik is in the south, the first one I visited. The colours of the minerals in the rocks were gorgeous.
Námafjall in the north was kind of sinister, smelling very strongly of sulphur.
The dark grey pool is made of mud and was boiling and bubbling.
Watch where you put your feet!
