Holding my new book.

I received my copies of Home Truths from the courier today. It’s so exciting to actually hold in your hand a copy of a book you’ve written yourself.

Especially when you’re so pleased with the way it looks and feels!

Word on the Street

Word on the Street was actually on the street again this year, after several years of being
indoors. It was held in Victoria Park in downtown Halifax – on a cool, windy day. Very
cool. Fleece was called for.
But it was fun to listen to, and reconnect, with other writers, and to buy a few books (I
always tell myself I won’t – but I don’t listen).
I read from Home Truths, my first Young Adult novel. Unfortunately, the actual copies
of the book were stuck on a courier’s truck somewhere between Ontario and Nova Scotia,
so I had to read from the manuscript. But it felt good to read from pages that I’d worked
on so hard for so long.
